Equipment quality

Giraffe Access only use EU manufactured equipment from the leading manufacturers, Sky Climber and Altrex. As UK distributor for Sky Climber for over 30 years, we have access to the high quality hoists, safety devices and spare parts.

Maintenance regime

Our 20,000sq ft workshop and engineering facility was purpose built for maintenance of suspended cradle equipment. Machinery, test rigs and certification equipment ensures equipment is robustly maintained to ensure safety and efficiency. Trained technicians use manufacturer approved parts to repair and service all equipment before a Report of Thorough Examination is carried out prior to delivery to site.

Competency

Our commitment to team competency is underpinned by a group wide learning and education programme to ensure our riggers and technicians are trained, experienced and competent. From NVQs, apprenticeships, LEEA and industry training, our active investment in the team is critical to what we do.

Rigging Process

• Site Survey & Planning
  We conduct thorough site visits to assess façade layouts, roof conditions and understand building loads.

• Cradle Rigging Design & Engineering
  Our team produces detailed rigging plans and structural calculations, specifying suspension methods and load capacities.

• Equipment Setup
  We deploy appropriate hoist, safety devices, platform and suspension gear—roof beams, monorails, davits, or customised solutions—tailored to your building.

• Cradle Installation & Commissioning
  Rigging, platform erection, hoist setup, and full-system testing ensure safe operation.

• Compliance
  We provide the appropriate testing and certification in line with Loler.

• Dismantling & Removal
  Once works are complete, we efficiently remove all systems, leaving no trace and restoring the site.
