Powered Abseil system
ZARAFA TEAM DESIGN AND INSTALL POWERED ABSEILING SYSTEM IN CENTRAL LONDON
211, Hackney Road in London presented Zarafa with the challenge of creating a system which would allow multiple abseilers to access all elevations of the multi-storey residential building and safely carry out their maintenance work. Additionally, the machine needed to house a material lift for future façade replacement works. The system was designed bespoke for this project and incorporated a robust closed loop steel track and an electric traversable machine to give abseilers the opportunity to safely access and move around the entire perimeter of the building in a much more ‘fit for use’ manner than typical abseiling techniques. The machine allows for 2 abseilers and a 500kg load to be suspended at once.
Zarafa worked closely with the main contractor, architects and cladding contractors to produce a system which was fully compatible with the building and its finishes whilst not affecting the buildings aesthetics
