ALL AROUND MONORAIL SOLUTION
Temporary Cradles using a monorail to provide full access on a project by Giraffe Access in Manchester.
The objective of the project was to provide the customer with an "all around" access to the building facade during the construction stage. The access had to incorporate cradles and material hoists - used to maneuver finishing materials for the building.
The most suitable option was to provide two monorail tracks covering the whole facade - one for the man-riding platforms and a second one for the material hoists.
The monorail tracks had to be lifted above the roof level of the building to allow finishing works to be carried out on the full height of all facades. Therefore a special supporting structure has been designed and incorporated with the building structure to raise the tracks 2m higher than the roof level.
